How to Pour From Full Tetrapak
Reduce the glug!
Ever wondered why a full carton of plant milk is so difficult to pour from without it making a huge mess?
Most of us automatically put the plastic spout as close to the glass or cup as possible. When we do that with a full carton, it tends to splatter and glug.

The answer is to hold the carton so the spout is on the top, further away from the rim of the drinking vessel.
It feels wrong but it works! So what causes the glug in the first place? When the spout is at the lowest edge, the outgoing liquid covers the opening and prevents air from getting in.
This creates a slight vacuum inside the container which needs to be dealt with. You know how nature abhors a vacuum!

The difference in pressure between the inside and outside of the carton will cause the liquid to stop flowing and an air bubble will be drawn into the container. It’s like the carton is gasping for air.
When the pressure is almost the same inside the carton as it is outside, the liquid will flow again. It’s this stop-start process that causes the splatters.
