Vegan Monte Cristo Sandwich
Ingredients
25g of Orgran Vegan Easy Egg For Cooking
150ml of water
1/2 tsp of smoked paprika
salt and pepper
4 slices of sourdough bread
2 tbsp of mustard
4 to 6 pieces of sliced vegan ham
3 slices of Angel Food Dairy-Free Cheddar or Mozzarella Cheese
1 tbsp of vegan butter or olive oil
Steps to make Vegan Monte Cristo Sandwich
In a bowl that’s big enough to fit the bread, whisk together the vegan egg, water, ¼ tsp of smoked paprika, salt and pepper to taste.
Spread the mustard evenly over one side of a slice of bread and assemble the sandwich by layering the vegan ham and Angel Food Dairy-Free Cheddar Cheese or Mozzarella on top.
Dip both sides of the sandwich in the egg mixture.
Heat the pan or skillet on medium-high heat and add the vegan butter or oil. Once the vegan butter is completely melted, add the sandwich to the pan and cook for approximately 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until the bread is golden brown and crispy.
